It is 2022 review time, and 2023 goal setting and Word of the Year choosing time! 2022 Review - Conversation I knew I would have some big and amazing conversations during the year, and boy did this word deliver. I had beautiful and supportive conversations with so many loved ones about how they like to be loved and supported, and how I most feel loved too. I connected better with my husband, and took the time to find out a few things about myself along the way. All in all a great word for the year! I had too many goals this year that were too broad in scope so I don't feel like I did them all justice. A lesson I've taken into planning for 2023 - have fewer priorities!
Opposite to 2021, I smashed through my goals in the first half of the year (the cycling training greatly helped with this I feel!) and I really struggled during the second half of the year. After the bike ride in June, I got sick a couple of times and had started a new job at my workplace. I think between learning a new role and recovering from illness, I didn't have a lot of energy and motivation left to continue focus on my goals. 2023 Goals I've changed my approach slightly this year and have categorised my priorities into four main areas. For the computer work items, this blog and my Etsy shop, I'm considering aligning progress with how we run our teams at work - two week sprints following Agile principles. I'm sure it can't hurt to give it a go! Self:
I haven't introduced a heap of new things this year, only a couple. The rest of my priorities are very much focused on things I already do or have, and want more of in my life. I didn't return to Clear's Atomic Habits in 2022, but I will at some stage! I've actually listed a couple of non-fiction books to read this year to support some of my priorities, which I haven't done before. We'll see how that goes too! 2023 Word of the Year - Intention I would like to do more things on purpose, with intention. I'm hoping this word will help me check in more regularly with my actions, feelings, and how I move around in the world. I also hope it will improve my mindfulness and presence every day. It has a lot more ambiguity than my initial ideas on last year's word, Conversation. But that also means a lot of possibilities and opportunities for me to discover!
